Alex's Ooh La Frou Frou Fantasy

Alex here, darlings!
If you're new to the blog,
welcome!
I'm one of the eight city girls
that star in the
Ooh La Frou Frou Collection
card line!

For those of you that have
seen my past posts:
do you think of me only as the
Ooh La Frou Frou girl
that loves to entertain
and bake up glamorous desserts
in her lovely kitchen overlooking the city?
Ooh La Frou Frou Collection "Chocolate Wishes" Birthday card
can be purchased here.  (c) Ooh La Frou Frou 2011

Well, I am that girl ... but so much more!
I'm not always in the kitchen in posh apron coutour,
even though I do love dreaming up sweet treats!!

Let's see ...
did you know that Alex is short for Alexandra?
Pretty romantic name, I think, no?

And did you know
that I really, really love the color of my hair?
It is a fiery auburn with golden highlights
that glisten in the sun..
I feel very Nicole Kidman-like
because of the mutual color of our tresses
and I positively loved
the Chanel print and television campaign of a few years ago!
It was so me ...
Image via

I often wondered what it would have been like
to have been running through the city
with my hair flowing in the wind behind me,
dressed in that most fabulous Karl Lagerfeld gown
of pink feathers and sparkle!
Image via

If you'd like to refresh your memory of this Chanel ad campaign,
take a little trip back in time ..

Yes, just like the rest of the
Ooh La Frou Frou girls,
I'm positively giddy about anything glamourous and girly.
As I pass window displays in the city,
such as this one at Victoria's Secret,
I  imagine what it would be like
trying on luscious lingeree and clothing
everyday for a living ...
Image via

And when I see the fabulous runway shows,
I think how utterly fabulous it would be
to have the opportunity to be dressed in a beautiful gown
like this one from Ellie Saab's Spring 2011 Couture Collection  ...
Image via

or slide my hands into silky long grey gloves
that perfectly accent a Christian Dior gown
from his Spring/Summer 2011 Couture Collection.
Image via

And as for magazine photoshoots,
such as this one that appeared in Vogue's November 2010 issue,
I could just imagine myself in Anne Hathaway's place,
dressed in this chic Oscar de la Renta gown,
walking into an old-Hollywood-style dinner club,
maybe with Frank Sinatra crooning softly in the background ...
as a handsome stranger walks up to me and says ...
"Won't you join me, darling, for a glass of champagne ..."

Image via

Leighton Meester will be starring in
a new 2011 Vera Wang perfume campaign this year ...
I wonder what scenario I will imagine up for this one?
I can guarantee there'll be one.
I do think I'd look rather FABulous in this
mermaid style gown that ends in a cloud of softness!
Image via

One of the really marvelous .. and I do mean marvelous
things about being an Ooh La Frou Frou girl is
that when one of us has a fantasy about a couture gown,
we don't have to contact Rachel Zoe
(although we'd LOVE to!)
We don't have to contact the famous designers.
We simply whisper our fantasies to the artist
and she makes our fantasies come true!

For instance,
don't you love the new 2011 Moet and Chandon campaign
starring the gorgeous Scarlett Johansson?
The first image feels very Marilyn Monroe to me.

Moet and Chandon Images via

In some shots she looks as if she's the
Lady of the Manor,
leisurely overseeing preparations
as her staff prepares for a very grand soiree ...

Do you think Scarlett may have taken a little afternoon nap,
weary of all the party planning,
and found herself floating through dreamland
with visions of balloons standing in for champagne bubbles?

By the sheer amount of champagne flutes below,
it looks as if there are going to be quite a few guests
walking through the door of Scarlett's party.
When I saw the following photo, I admit, I did envision myself in
darling Scarlett's place.
Who wouldn't want to place themselves
in this glamorous French manor
with its gold-leafed moldings and antique mirrors?
And the gown ...
did I mention the GOWN?

In my fantasy,
I'd need a little sweet confection to accompany the bubbly.
For my ad campaign,
I see myself on the ladder,
holding one of my luscious three-tier cakes
with delicate frosting petals.
on the cake and sprinkled all around.
And what fantasy is complete
without champagne bubbles in the air?

What do you think of my fantasy,
Scarlett?

Boutique Love ... A Post by Belle

Hello Girls!
Belle here!
Before I start, let me mention that
several girls have asked if we had an
Ooh La Frou Frou Button
that they could place it on the sidebar of their blog.
Well ... now, we do!
Just look in the right hand sidebar below Followers
over there ---->
and you'll find our Button with our logo girl
Tiffany
looking adorable on it!

Now, on to my post!
When the artist selected me for this week's blog post
and I found out what she would be introducing today,
I just knew what I'd be talking about!

Boutique Love!
Being a Southern-girl-turned-city-girl,
Boutique Love is something I love about city life!
And I especially love when several of the girls and I
grab breakfast and a cappuccino on a lazy weekend morning
and head out for a day of shopping in the city.
We love to hit all of the luxury boutiques,
even if it's just to look!
And all of the cheery colors
and bright lights of the fabulous boutiques
almost feel like ... springtime!

There are so many lovely places to go
that it's usually hard to make up our mind!
Do we shop for gorgeous lingeree at Agent Provocateur?

or perhaps at Journelle?

A little Lanvin Love would feel just right ...

and, of course, we simply must
sigh through the fabulous Ralph Lauren store,
pretending our gorgeous rich aunt lives there
and she's invited us to visit!
And why stop our fantasy there?
Our lovely pretend aunt
lets us raid her closets ... and she wears
just our size!

OF COURSE, what Boutique Love Day
doesn't involve shoes?
So, next on the agenda
would be to trot over to see what the fabulous Christian Louboutin
has up his sleeve.

The Christian Louboutin Spring/Summer 2011 Collection
is as yummy as springtime!
The colors of these ...

and this ...

are as juicy and springlike and fun as these!

And these ...

bring thoughts to mind of this!

These ...

and these ...

would look so right with a sundress and one of these ...

And, lastly, you can almost here the fireworks with these ...

or these!

These are but a few shoes in the new Loubtoutin spring/summer collection
and all of the bright colors in his collection
as well as the spring collections of all of the clothing designers this year
make all of the Ooh La Frou Frou girls
sooo looking forward to Spring!
How 'bout you?

Ahhh, Boutiques.
They take you away to another world
with their visual displays, bright lights and glamorous ambience.
I chose Boutique Love as my post
because the artist has something fun up her sleeve!

She created a piece of artwork
of a sitting area in a luxury shoe boutique.
It has a chocolate brown softly curvaceous settee
with a crystal chandelier hanging above it.
Looks like someone in the artwork (maybe you?)
has been on just such a shopping spree,
having fun trying on glamorous shoes!
This original illustration was created in pastels and acrylic
and limited 10" x 10" prints of the artwork will be signed and numbered
and available for purchase (unframed).
This is the first in a series of Settee Collection prints
that would be lovely for a dressing room.
Collect the whole series!
Order this Settee print
by clicking on the button below it.

In addition,
another Ooh La Frou Frou illustration
that has been featured on our website
has now been created as a print, as well.
This illustration shows a lovely Boutique dressing room
with sparkly gowns and cute dresses hanging
and shoes tossed about ..
and I see that someone (you again, perhaps?)
is in the fitting room!
Order this Dressing Room print
by clicking on the button below it.

Thanks for joining me, everyone,
for my Boutique Love post!
Hope everyone has a fabulous week ahead ...
and remember ...
think Spring!

Will You Be Mine, Valentine? ... by Cherie

Happy
Less-Than-A-Month-Till-Valentine's Day
lovelies!
And such a "charming" holiday it is!

It fills your head with dreamy thoughts of
romance, chocolates, flowers, special gifts,
and finds us getting ready for a date night,
applying Valentine red lips,
adding a sultry spritz of perfume,
sliding into a pair of heels
for a dinner by flickering candlelight.
Of course, love letters are often involved.
If you're looking for inspiration
or perhaps a clever way to say
"Will You Be Mine ... Valentine,"
one of these books may help you find just the right
twist of a phrase.
You never know ...
a love letter may work even more magic than just the right
twist of an ankle.

I'm introducing TWO
Ooh La Frou Frou Collection Valentines
on today's post ... (so exciting!)
and they are available for purchase
NOW!
One is a Valentine to send to your love
and one is to send to your girlfriends!
Also ...
something very special from Ooh La Frou Frou ...
because we LOVE you!

You can order any of our cards
without being a blog follower, of course,
but we're offering a special treat
for Valentines Day!
Blog Followers are being given the opportunity
 to have their Valentines personalized
with their own words inside!
If you haven't followed the blog yet,
by all means, sweetie, scoot on over to the right column!
Ordering instructions are at the end of the blog post!

How do you celebrate
Valentine's Day?
I started a little something
a few years ago when I wasn't dating anyone
and it has remained a part of my Valentine's Day
EVERY single year, whether I'm dating someone or not!
I enjoy the luxury of it so much,
I know you'd love it too!
Think of yourself as your very own Valentine
FIRST and treat yourself with extra love
on Valentine's Day!
I fill my day with beauty and purchase a few treats for myself
because, seriously, who knows me better than ... me?
Then if I get Valentine surprises from someone else ...
it's simply icing on the cake.

Think of Valentine's Day as a love letter especially for
glamorous, wonderful you.

image via

Pick up your favorite flowers for your nightstand
just because you ARE fabulous.

image via

then buy yourself some luxurious little treats
and wrap them in the most glamorous giftwrap or gift bag
such as this Boudoir Gift Bag
and leave your package on your nightstand
next to your flowers to open at the end of the day

Upon opening your gift(s),
you'll honestly be able to say ...
"It's just perfect!"
And believe me when I say
this will become one of your very favorite
Valentine's Day rituals EVERY year!

Our first Ooh La Frou Frou
Valentine's Day card is entitled
"Valentine Shopping"
and stars Ooh La Frou Frou girl Violet
shopping in the city!
It's a glamorous card to send to your girlfriends
to express the sentiment of treating yourself
on Valentine's Day!
Embellished with sparkling glitter and Swarovski crystals,
this charming card with pale pink paper inside reads

"Who says you can't buy love?
Happy Valentine's Day
glamour girl!"

Any ideas of what you will get your Special Someone
on Valentine's Day?
I'm curious to know
how you darling blog girlfriends
celebrate Valentine's Day with your loves.
A great way to celebrate with your boyfriend or husband is with a
 Valentine Scavenger Hunt.
This will be as much fun for you to plan
as it will be for your significant other to enjoy!
You've got plenty of time to put it together
by February 14!!

A Valentine Scavenger Hunt
works like any scavenger hunt, with gifts hidden in his car
and in the house when he gets home.
Notes are attached to the gifts,
giving a hint to where he might find the next gift.
I always start by purchasing several gifts for him ...
some small things he'd enjoy, some more significant.
One small gift that's a big hit is to make some
Valentine Fortune Cookies
(Martha Stewart has a great recipe).
They're easy to do
(shhh .. I let Ooh La Frou Frou girl Alex make mine!)
The fun part is that you get to make up the fortunes.

You can place the cookies in a colored chinese take-out container
with a ribbon tied to the handle that holds a note on a small card from you,
giving a hint where he might find his next gift.
(You can get boxes in a variety of colors.)

Image via

Scavenger hunts are great because you can repeat them
year after year with different themes ...
and you need not limit yourself to car and home
(although it's amazing how many places you can hide gifts at home ...
even the refrigerator)
You can even get creative and lead him all over town
to stores and restaurants that you've enlisted in the fun.
So ... put on your chic Valentine thinking cap,
good luck and happy planning!

Whatever you do for your Valentine,
be sure to send your love
a little fabulousness from Ooh La Frou Frou!
I star in our second card,
entitled "Heart You Valentine!"
My Valentine red dress is covered in glittery red hearts
and I'm sprinkling more love from my fingertips!

The pink paper inside the card says
"I So Heart You."

I love my sparkly heart dress!
Here's a little something else fun:
Did you like this Ooh La Frou Frou
"candy heart" at the beginning of the post?

You can have your OWN personalized heart!
Just go here and you'll be able to personalize
a Valentine candy heart to use as you wish!

Have a wonderful week, everyone!
