my California girl post!
In case you're new,
I'm the Ooh La Frou Frou girl
that lives in sunny California.
I travel often to visit the other 7 Ooh La Frou Frou girls
in New York and they come to visit me ... and do we have fun!
I'll be talking a little about what we do when the girls come to visit
but first ... a little birdie paid me a visit.
This little birdie said her name was
Glamorous Peep (she wears peep toes, of course).
She peeps things to me that she's overheard
that we girls might want to make mention of.
Well well well ... she peeped that
a darling fan of our blog and a Twitter follower
(who is a California girl too)
is celebrating her birthday TODAY ...
so we created an Ooh La Frou Frou birthday cake
just for her to say that we hope all her wishes come true!!!

With snowflakes on the verge of falling soon
in many parts of the country,
I am still slipping on my flip-flops and sandals!
I love being a California girl because I love days filled with SUNSHINE.
When I was little Sunshine was my nickname, later shortened to Sunny.
In fact, you may remember my previous post of a couple of months ago
when I posed for this Ooh La Frou Frou Collection card
(it was sooooo perfect for me) ...

So, how do we spend our time when we're all together in California?
Well .... come along, girlfriends and I'll
take you on a little virtual Ooh La Frou Frou girl trip!
First rule ...
we wouldn't even think of not spending
some leisurely and fun days at the beach!
We head out with our ipods, books, sunscreen and snacks and head to
either gorgeous Santa Monica Beach, Laguna Beach,
or the always fun Venice Beach (photos below).
which is great for people-watching.
Swimsuit-clad roller-bladers, street performers and artists
fill the boardwalk ... it's never a boring day at the beach!
When we're not soaking in the California sunshine at the beach,
the girls literally beg me to take them to places
where there's a good chance of spotting a celebrity.
What better place than the haute Rodeo Drive?
So, we get all glammed up for an afternoon of star-watching and shopping
(ala the dressed-up version of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman).
Hope usually goes through a whole suitcase of clothing
before finally deciding on which one she'll wear for an outing like this
and Tiffany usually dresses like Audrey Hepburn.
By the way, the memorable "Do you work on commission .."

at a woman's clothing store called Boulmiche,
located just a few steps west of Rodeo on Santa Monica Boulevard!
And ...
reportedly a few years ago,
Jennifer Love Hewitt was almost shown the door at Valentino
(due to her casual dress)
before they realized who she was,
so ... I don't take chances!
For the photo below, I've slipped into my Dior dress
and am carrying my favorite Chanel bag ...
so even if I'm just picking up small accessories at the famous shops
(for the fun of carrying around the fab logo bags),
I like to look like I could afford anything!

While we're on our way to Rodeo, I love to take them
through some of the gorgeous neighborhoods in Beverly Hills ...

Oh, by the way, girls, one of the beautiful stores on Rodeo Drive
is Frette ... you know ... the sumptuous bed linens that grace the beds
of high-end luxury boutique hotels and homes!
Well, last time I was in I found out that they're having a little drawing:
they will be choosing nine winners on November 30, 2010
and the prize is ... are you ready?
A $1400 shopping spree at Frette (or their on-line store!)
So, being the good girlfriend that I am,
I brought along a little Entry Form that you,

and it's not unusual to look up and see Steve Martin or Demi Moore
a few tables away!
I tell the girls to try and look inconspicuous
by wearing their shades as I always do,
so you can scan the tables nearby without anyone noticing.
If you spot a star,
you can slyly lower your glasses to take a peek!
When we've had our fill of celebrity watching,
we hop in my convertible
and take a drive down Pacific Coast Highway.
Depending upon how much time we have,
we can enjoy the Pacific Ocean views
of Los Angeles, gorgeous Santa Barbara, maybe even
San Francisco, Napa Valley if we've got time to kill!
Yes, we have fun in California.
But we also have fun in New York, which I love.
I always come visit the girls in the city for some Christmas shopping
and love the snowflakes on my eyelashes
and the fabulous window displays
and the big tree in Rockefeller Center.
But ...
the day after New Years ...
I'll be under a palm tree
back in Beverly Hills, darlings!
If you could live anywhere, where would you live?
